Name Specific Logos
A "Name Specific Logo" is one that uses only the name of the company. the distinctiveness of the name, along with the type face and treatments applied to the type give these logos their character. Sometimes the logo is accompanied by a tag line or slogan which is always displayed with the name.
Symbol + Name Logos
A symbol or graphic device and the name of the logo. The Symbol can be used separately from the name. This is a highly functional logo form. Having a Symbol + Name logo allows a company to have two high value brand collateral that can be used in multiple ways. For example the symbol can be rendered in a very smal size and used as the logo on material where the full name would be too large.
Encapsulating Device Logos
These logos rely on the name but also have graphic elements which are not seperated by contrast with Symbol + Name logos. Combining the name and the graphic can make the logo more memorable and more meaningful to the brand.
Device Attached Logos
Uses the initial letters of the business name to create a unique graphic symbol, but can include other elements. Monograms of one or more letters are Typographic Symbol logos. Used in conjunction with the name just like Symbol + Name logos. My comment count for this post is...0 .
